Tamil Style Lemon Rice Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 4 spoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • peanuts
  • 1 green chilli (slices)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Add salt according to the taste

How to cook Lemon Rice Recipe in Tamil

  1. Heat some oil in a pan, then add mustard in it.
  2. After a while, add finely chopped green chilies and curry leaves.
  3. Keep the flame low and add chopped onion and cook till it becomes pink.
  4. Now add ripe rice to it.
  5. Then put turmeric in it.
  6. Now add salt to it.
  7. Then squeeze the lemon into the rice.
  8. Add peanuts for adding taste.
  9. Cover the vessel and make the flame medium.
  10. Ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Tamil Style recipe

Rice – 250 gm
Oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 10 gm
Curry leaves – 8 -10 nos
Bengal gram (Kadalaparippu) – 20 gm
Black gram (Uzhunnuparippu) – 20 gm
Red dry chillies(Kollamulaku) – 2-3 pcs
Ginger – 1″ piece (finely chopped)
Green chillies – 2 pcs (finely chopped)
Onion (large) – 1 pc (finely minced)
turmeric powder – A pinch
Peanuts(Nelakadala) – 10 gm
Lemon – 1 pc
Salt – As per taste

Method

  • Boil the rice till it is tender, strain water and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, Bengal gram, black gram and red dry chilly and stir well.
  • When these turn a little brown in colour, add green chilies, chopped ginger, minced onions, peanuts and turmeric powder.
  • Stir well and keep on flame for two minutes.
  • Add pre-boiled rice, lemon juice and salt.
  • Keep on flame for about 3-4 minutes.
